General
What is RepTalk?
RepTalk is a gym workout-logging app that lets you record your workouts by speaking — no typing required. You say "bench press, 80 kg, 10 reps, 3 sets" and the AI logs it for you instantly.
What platforms does RepTalk support?
iOS (iPhone) and Android. A single account works across both platforms.
What languages are supported?
The app interface and voice recognition support English and Arabic. You can change the language in Settings.
Do I need an account to use RepTalk?
Yes. An account is required to sync your data across devices and to manage your subscription. You can sign up with email/password, Google, or Apple.
Voice Recording
How do I log a workout?
Tap the microphone button inside a workout session, speak your set (e.g. "squat, 100 kg, 5 reps, 4 sets"), preview the recording, then tap Send. The AI parses your speech and adds the exercise to your session automatically.
What if I make a mistake in my recording?
Before sending, you can play back the recording and delete it to re-record. After it is processed, you can manually edit any set in the session.
What languages can I speak in?
English and Arabic. Speak naturally — the AI handles both accents and mixed sentences.
Why did the app not understand me?
Make sure to mention the exercise name, weight, and reps clearly (e.g. "bench press 80 kg 10 reps"). Background noise can sometimes affect accuracy. Try recording in a quieter spot, or use the manual entry option as a fallback.
What happens to my voice recordings?
Audio is sent over HTTPS directly to OpenAI's Speech-to-Text API for transcription and is never stored on RepTalk's servers. After transcription, the audio is discarded. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Offline Use
Does RepTalk work without internet?
Yes, almost entirely. You can start sessions, view your full history, and browse progress charts with no internet connection.
What happens if I record a workout while offline?
The audio file is saved locally on your device. When you come back online, RepTalk automatically sends it for AI processing and adds the results to the correct session — no action needed from you. You will see a "Recording saved!" confirmation when it is queued.
Will I lose data if my phone dies before syncing?
No. Recordings are saved to the permanent storage area (not temp/cache) on your device, so they survive restarts and low-battery shutdowns. They will sync the next time you open the app with an internet connection.
Does offline use count against my minutes quota?
Minutes are counted when recordings are processed (i.e. sent to the AI), not when they are recorded. So if you record offline, your quota is consumed at the time the recording is processed once you reconnect.
Can I use RepTalk on a device with no SIM, only Wi-Fi?
Yes. The app works offline and syncs whenever Wi-Fi is available.
Subscription & Plans
What is the difference between the plans?
Free: 10 voice minutes/month with history & charts. Starter: 100 voice minutes/month plus advanced analytics. Pro: Unlimited voice minutes plus CSV export and priority support. All plans include cloud sync.
What are "voice minutes"?
Voice minutes are the total duration (in minutes) of audio recordings you send to the AI for transcription each month. For example, if each of your sets takes about 5 seconds to describe, 10 free minutes gives you roughly 120 set-descriptions per month.
When do my voice minutes reset?
On the 1st of every calendar month (UTC). Unused minutes do not carry over.
How do I know how many minutes I have left?
Go to the Profile tab — your plan card shows "X min remaining". You can also see the exact usage breakdown there.
What happens when I reach my limit?
Before you can start a new recording, you will see a "Voice minutes limit reached" sheet showing your usage. You can upgrade your plan or wait until the 1st of next month for your quota to reset.
I recorded a workout but the AI failed to process it — did it use my minutes?
No. Voice minutes are only counted after a successful processing result. Failed attempts (network error, AI error, server error) do not consume your quota.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep access until the end of the current paid period.
I reinstalled the app and lost my subscription — what do I do?
Go to Settings → Upgrade → "Restore purchases". This reconnects your purchase to your account.
Is there a family plan or multi-user plan?
Not currently. Each account has its own subscription.
Data & Privacy
Is my workout data private?
Yes. Row-Level Security on our database ensures that only you can access your workout data. Even we cannot read one user's data through another user's account.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and queues deletion of all associated data. Cloud data is fully deleted within 30 days.
Is my payment information stored by RepTalk?
No. All payment processing is handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
Does RepTalk share my data with advertisers?
No. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.
Technical
Why did the app force me to update?
For security or critical bug fixes, we may require users to update before continuing. You will see a prompt with the minimum required version and a link to the store.
I see a "Syncing your workouts" banner — is that normal?
Yes. This appears the first time you log in on a new device while your existing workout history is being downloaded from the cloud. It runs in the background and the app is fully usable while it syncs.
Does the app drain my battery?
RepTalk only uses the microphone while you are actively recording (tap-and-hold or push-to-talk). Background sync consumes minimal battery — it piggybacks on existing connectivity events.
Is my data backed up?
Yes, automatically. All workout data is synced to our cloud database (Supabase) when you have an internet connection. The local database on your device is a complete offline copy.
